Mission Statement

Colette’s Canvas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides children in underserved communities the opportunity to express themselves creatively, and follow their artistic dreams. Your gifts help us provide art supplies to underprivileged children in New York, Puerto Rico and Sri Lanka. Our founder Colette Catherine Brille recognized through her personal experience during Covid 2020 that art provided her a space to self express during a difficult time not just for her but many children around the world. She recognized there was a pressing need in many communities for the promotion of charitable donations of art supplies to support children, schools, and other nonprofit organizations serving youth and the arts.

Vision

Core to our identity is the belief that all children, regardless of their financial circumstances, should have access to art education. As a public charity powered by volunteers, this belief drives all that we do.

History of Project

Motivated by the lack of art in schools during the past year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Colette Brille founded Colette’s Canvas to distribute art supplies to kids in underserved communities. The goal of Colette’s Canvas is to give all kids the ability to express themselves and find a sense of peace and comfort through art. The organization is planning to serve kids in New York City, Puerto Rico, and Sri Lanka.
